MUGA pitch costings

MUGA pitch costings can be dependent on the type of multisport surface used, what sports are to be played on the surface and what additional features are required for a facility. GreenFields are able to design and build a range of different MUGA sports surfaces for educational establishments, each suited to specific sports and with the option for official match play.

Having a multisport area for your school can bring many benefits, from encouraging more physical education and sport in pupils to providing an opportunity for students to rent out the facilities outside of school time. The choice of surfacing and line markings can also impact the sports students are able to play, and it is important to consider what your specific needs are when choosing your MUGA pitch specification to ensure the right surfacing for your pupils.

Budgeting for Your MUGA Pitch Project: A Comprehensive Guide to Cost Considerations

There are a number of different MUGA surfacing options available, with a variety of designs and colors to choose from. Types 1 and 2 MUGA pitches use an open textured porous macadam surface for ball rebound sports, such as tennis, netball and basketball and can be painted in a range of colours. Type 3 MUGA pitches are high-grip polymeric surface that can be used for a wide variety of sports, including football and hockey.

Once the sub-base and foundation installations have been completed, contractors can install the MUGA surface. This can be either a polymeric surface, a professional rubberized anti-slip finish or a tarmac surface. For schools and sports centers that prefer a natural-looking and playing surface, a needle punch or artificial grass surface can be installed.
